Jeanneau have recently added the new Sun Odyssey 50DS to their series of large ocean cruisers. The boat was launched at the Dusseldorf Boat Show. Elegance, space and light are the key strengths of the SO 50DS. Her graceful, beige hull glides through the water. Light pours into the saloon through long, lateral, almond shaped windows – hallmarks of Jeanneau’s successful deck saloon design concept – and through enlarged hull ports. Step aboard, admire the twin steering wheels and appreciate the generous central deck saloon, affording comfort and ease of movement for gracious entertaining.

Below, with a midships beam of 4.37 metres, the layout is thoughtful and the design is resolutely contemporary. Furnished with alternating tones of white leather and warm varnished timber, the interior features long fluid lines and all the seaworthy details of a large sailing yacht.

Available in a choice of configurations, with two or three cabins, the Sun Odyssey 50DS also allows the owner to choose a forward or aft cabin. The standard version comes equipped with exceptional fittings including a furling mainsail, a Harken mainsheet traveller system, double anchor rollers with a powerful windlass, a forward sail locker, a dedicated liferaft stowage compartment as well as additional space for optional equipment.

Last but not least, the powerful, high performance hull, designed by Phillippe Briand, carries 102 square metres of sail area, assuring an excellent performance for her 10 tons of displacement.
