Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 33i

A craft built without compromise to meet the demands of extended cruising in safety and comfort.

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 33i

The new 2009 Sun Odyssey 33i is designed and built for the passionate sailor. Every detail appeals to the connoisseur, from the perfectly balanced sail plan and excellent cockpit layout, to the rich feel of the interior and high level of standard equipment.

Keeping the traditional, performance-oriented Jeanneau buyer in mind, Marc Lombard worked to create a boat that has the interior volume of a larger vessel, while maintaining the fine entry and powerful hull shape, which brings a smile to your face every time you leave the dock.

Cruising means comfort, of course, but to truly enjoy the experience you need a sailboat that is quick and responsive, as well as safe and dependable. The Sun Odyssey 33i meets all these criteria like no other boat in its category.

The interior is designed to accommodate social activities, but is large enough to provide each spacious cabin with the privacy needed for long periods onboard. The quality of the woodwork and varnish sets the Sun Odyssey 33i apart in its class, and gives the interior a luxurious feel.

The large galley, with standard hot water and 100-litre refrigerated storage, makes taking care of crew and entertaining guests a pleasure.

The private areas onboard the Sun Odyssey 33i are designed with the same attention to detail and regard to function as the public spaces. Each cabin has a large hanging locker and a cabinet with shelves, as well as numerous other storage compartments. In addition, each cabin has been set up with a reading area with a dedicated reading light and a 12V accessory plug to recharge personal electronics.

The aft cabin benefits from a large deck hatch for light and ventilation. This cabin also features two opening ports. The head compartment is outstanding in its class. It offers a large hanging area for wet clothing, plenty of storage and a mirror. A stand-up shower with drainage pump is standard.

The cockpit’s where you spend 80% of the time whilst onboard and the Sun Odyssey 33i is designed with this in mind. The seats are over two metres in length, so there’s room for all your guests. Pedestal-mounted wheel steering and instrument console are standard on the Sun Odyssey 33i. The cockpit seats and transom are laid in teak as standard. A large table when fitted, transforms the cockpit into an excellent outdoor entertaining area.

A performance version of the Sun Odyssey 33i with Mylar laminate sails, and increased sail area, is also available. In addition to the sails, the winches and genoa tracks are upgraded, and an adjustable backstay and folding propeller are fitted. A mainsail traveller with a fine-tune control is mounted on the cockpit floor, which means precise sail trim is easily within your reach.

All control lines are led aft to the cockpit and the primary winches are placed within easy reach of the helmsman making the boat easy and safe to handle when short-handed. A balanced sail plan provides the power to take you swiftly to your destination.

Safety and dependability is essential for peace of mind when cruising. The Sun Odyssey 33i is built to strict ISO 9001 standards and has earned the European Community ‘A’ rating.
