| New Princess 62 |
| Princess Yachts used the London Boat Show last year to launch two all-new models: the Flybridge Princess 62 and V Class Princess V45. |
2007 saw the launch of the new landmark flagship yacht in late spring
- the Princess 95 MY, which is the company's largest project
to date.
With the launch of three all-new models in the first half of the
year, along with plans to further expand their Plymouth-based manufacturing
facilities, 2007 was an important year for Princess.
This month we review the all-new Princess 62.
New Princess 62
The new Princess 62 combines high performance with spacious accommodation
and dynamic good looks.
This
latest deep V hull has been developed with a generous beam so as
to allow a good sized galley to be located on the main deck in conjunction
with a separate dining area and a large and comfortable aft saloon
with its own entertainment centre.
This allows the lower deck accommodation to be designed on the same
principles as much larger boats with a full beam owner's cabin, a
VIP suite forward, and two further guest cabins as well as a laundry
centre. An aft crew cabin may also be specified if required.
The wide beam also means plenty of room in the aft cockpit and on
the flybridge with large seating areas, a separate sunbed, and a wet bar
with barbecue.
The hull design has been carefully configured to combine outstanding
seaworthiness with high speeds so as to allow extended fast cruising
whilst retaining simple and straightforward handling characteristics
which are further enhanced through power assisted steering, electronic
engine controls and a powerful bow thruster for easy maneuvering.
Beautifully fitted and with dynamically elegant looks, the Princess
62 sets a new standard.

Key Points
1. The lower accommodation consists of a full beam owner's
stateroom featuring large vertical portlights, a VIP guest cabin
forward, a twin berth (side-by-side) guest cabin to starboard and
a further twin guest cabin to port which can alternatively be specified
as a study.
2. The fully equipped galley sits opposite a large u-shaped dining
area to port. Generous seating on both sides of the saloon takes
full advantage of the wide beam and is complemented by a state-of-the
art entertainment centre including a pop up LCD TV, Radio/DVD and
surround sound system.
