Honda CR-V
This new CRV provides a level of safety, design and innovation which, together with engine choices like never before, mean it simply must be on your short list.

Honda CR-V

Doing it his way
Honda started the new CRV remodelling with a 2.4-Litre i-VTEC DOCH 2.4 engine, then added an entirely new in-house designed i-CTDi diesel engine. The story has it that Honda's chief engineer hated diesels and only agreed to build a new one if he could do it his way. So he started from scratch. The result is the lightweight 2.2 litre i-CTDi engine. With its increased torque, high responsiveness and astonishing acceleration, you don't even notice it's a diesel!

Smooth performer
With a smoother car body shape and no spare wheel on the back, the new CRV is more for leisure, with the much bigger seven-spoke rim size and a slightly lowered centre of gravity, this new model gives better on the road performance and control than ever.

Feeling cool
The increased use of insulation substantially reduces road noise, so you'll always arrive feeling cool, calm and totally relaxed, while the panoramic glass roof allows in more light, creating a feeling of more space and offering passengers a better view all-round. At the rear of the cabin, full seats - as well as 60:40 split-type rear-seats - can be folded down or forward as you prefer and are designed so that five adults can sit comfortably. A double deck cargo shelf can divide the cargo area in two, so you can load tall items in the front of the cargo area or hide shopping or valuables from view.

Honda CR-VManoeuvring a dream
The high driving position increases visibility, while the use of technology makes manoeuvring in tight spaces a dream. The audio controls are set into the steering wheel along with a voice activated Bluetooth hands-free telephone. An LCD panel between dual-dial meters shows current fuel efficiency, outdoor air temperature and other handy information. There's an impressive list of aids for the driver too - front corner and rear parking sensors help avoid those irritating parking mishaps and rain-sensing wipers that are triggered by a shower vary their frequency according to the amount of rain. When it stops raining, they stop.

Highest of high tech
A rear-view camera, linked to the satellite navigation screen, allows you to see everything that's going on behind the car, while in front, the driver can select the required speed and distance between himself and the car ahead, without having to constantly switch controls on and off. A radar set behind the front grille constantly monitors the gap ahead and controls the distance by automatically modulating the throttle, or braking if the gap closes. If the vehicle ahead increases its distance again, this system brings you back to your preset speed. Clever!

Intelligent brakes
The same radar helps detect when a frontal collision is imminent and works in conjunction with the seatbelt "E-pretensioners" to give visual and audio warnings to the driver to take preventative action.

When there's a risk of collision with the vehicle ahead, or if the distance between the two vehicles is too short, an alarm sounds and the word BRAKE appears on the multiplex display. If the distance between the two vehicles continues to decrease, the system applies light braking and the E-pretensioners on the driver's side gently retract the seatbelt two or three times. At this point there's still a chance the collision can be avoided. When collision becomes unavoidable, the system starts emergency braking and activates the brake assist function to reduce speed. At the same time, E-pretensioners begin to tighten the seatbelts to reduce collision forces and potential threat and serious injury.

Never before
This new CRV provides a level of safety, design and innovation which, together with engine choices like never before, mean it simply must be on your short list.
