At a lavish gala dinner the winners of the 2008 Thailand Property Awards were announced in front of 550 real estate and business executives from all over Thailand.

Held on the 1st November at Conrad Hotel, Bangkok, the annual Thailand Property Awards – now in their third year – saw a record turnout. 550 real estate and business executives, representing over 92 companies, attended the gala dinner to find out who the 21 winners were this year.

BDO Richfield Advisory Limited (part of BDO International – a worldwide network of public accounting firms) were tasked with overseeing the awards process. "Neither ourselves or the organisers allocated any points or influenced any judging. It was a long process, but was thorough and fair,” said Paul Ashburn, Senior Partner of BDO Richfield Advisory Limited.

This year there were 8 winners from Bangkok, 6 from Phuket, 2 from the Eastern Seaboard, 2 from Samui and 3 from Hua Hin.

Only one award category is free from BDO's oversight. The 'Property Report Thailand Real Estate Personality of the Year' award is decided exclusively by Property Awards organisers Ensign Media, and this year went to flamboyant Royal Phuket Marina developer, Gulu Lalvani.
