British International School, Phuket

The British International School (BIS), Phuket is an English medium, co-educational, day and boarding school, set within an extensive purpose-built campus in the heart of the picturesque island of Phuket in southern Thailand. The 75-acre campus is purpose built and houses world-class facilities which enable students to excel in sports, as well as in their academic studies.

The school was established in 1996 and is home to some 850 students aged from 18 months to 18 years. The student population comes from within Thailand and from overseas, with over 36 different nationalities represented.

BIS Phuket utilises the National Curriculum of England along with a healthy mix of international curricula from around the world. The GCSE and IGCSE programmes prepare students for entry to the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma) Programme, an international university entrance qualification recognised by higher educational institutions in over 100 countries.

Phuket International Academy Day School (PIA)

Darasamuth Phuket School

Darasamuth English Programme, part of the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, was formed during the academic year 2002/2003. The English Programme (EP) operates as a small community within the grounds of Darasamuth Phuket School. It’s conveniently located opposite Central Festival Shopping Centre. The EP offers modern facilities including OHPs, spacious classrooms, library, art room and a computer suite.

The influence of teachers upon students is immense. We seek to give the students the tools to think for themselves, whilst maintaining a holistic, child-centred approach to learning. Our ethos in the EP, therefore, is to create self-sufficient, independent-thinking, creative, problem-solving, effective communicators.

The EP follows the Thai Ministry of Education curriculum requirements in all subject areas. It also integrates elements from western curricula to enhance the student’s learning experience.
