Things to do in Phuket : July 2008
July heralds the arrival of the wet season that will continue until October. For visitors, here are some suggestions to entertain you on those rainy days.

Shopping:
No need to get bored on your bed event if it's raining outside. The island has several major shopping locations. The perfect cure for those rainy day blues is to shop 'til you drop.
In & near Phuket City:

In Patong:

Museums:
Visit Thalang National Museum (located just east of the Heroines’ monument on Pa Khlok Road) and get to know about Phuket’s fascinating history. Open daily except holidays 8:30am - 4pm. Tel: 0 7631 1025, 0 7631 1426. Phuket Seashell Museum (located on Wiset Road, Rawai) has a huge variety of sea shells on display, some more than 200 million years old. The museum also has a large shop selling seashell products, handicrafts and souvenirs. Open daily from 8am - 6pm. Tel: 0 7638 1266, 0 7638 1274.

Phuket Aquarium:
For those who would like to know more about Phuket’s surrounding waters and its marine life, the Phuket Aquarium will surround you with water without your getting wet. The Aquarium, which is also a Marine Life Research Centre, is located right on the tip of Cape Panwa and is a 13-kilometre drive from Phuket City. There is a local bus service to the Aquarium which leaves Ranong Road daily, from 9:00am to 3:00pm every hour. Open daily except holidays 8:30am - 4pm. Tel: 0 7631 1025, 0 7631 1426.
