Things to do in Phuket : July 2008

July heralds the arrival of the wet season that will continue until October. For visitors, here are some suggestions to entertain you on those rainy days.

Shopping:
No need to get bored on your bed event if it's raining outside. The island has several major shopping locations. The perfect cure for those rainy day blues is to shop 'til you drop.

Museums:
Visit Thalang National Museum (located just east of the Heroines’ monument on Pa Khlok Road) and get to know about Phuket’s fascinating history. Open daily except holidays 8:30am - 4pm. Tel: +66 (0)76 311025, +66 (0)76 311426. Phuket Seashell Museum (located on Wiset Road, Rawai) has a huge variety of sea shells on display, some more than 200 million years old. Phuket Aquarium:
For those who would like to know more about Phuket’s surrounding waters and its marine life, the Phuket Aquarium will surround you with water without your getting wet. The Aquarium, which is also a Marine Life Research Centre, is located right on the tip of Cape Panwa and is a 13-kilometre drive from Phuket City.
