“In designing The Sense Spa, I wanted to create a centre where ambience and an overall sense of wellbeing pervaded”, says Khun Nipon Wongviwatchai, the owner of this relaxing haven. A treat for the senses! Oils mingle with incense to charm the sense of smell while relaxing music evocative of the sounds of nature serve as a soothing appeal to the ears. Herbal steams and milk baths, body scrubs and wraps, facials and styles of massage mean there is something for everyone. Evening Primose and Jojoba Oil form the base oils used in massages while tropical fruits, herbs, spices and native flora help to relax the senses and promote healing.

Contemporary oriental is the flavour of this small, intimate day spa where an exotic array of sights, sounds, smells and – of course – pampering experiences await you. Browns, blacks and reds, often highlighted with gold leaves, are the spa’s theme colours, their potential starkness offset by sandstone and antique yellow, with soft lighting from floor to ceiling fixtures that ensure a soothing atmosphere. Shapes, symbols and materials, characteristic of the Orient, set in the structures and in the décor, entice you into the Eastern theme of soothing and relaxation.

An ideal package to choose from that allows one to indulge in the various offerings available is a three-hour package that encourages skin and general body conditioning to promote wellbeing an inner peace of mind. Beginning with The Thai Herbal Steam that uses fresh plae, galangal, lemongrass, ginger and bergamot for the best body cleansing, the treatment follows with a 45 minute body scrub – a scrub of sesame seeds blended with exotic sesame oil designed to deeply moisturize dry and sensitive skin and enhance a smooth complexion. A Floral Milk Bath serves to relax and smooth the skin. The 90 minute Swedish Massage which follows is performed by well-trained therapists experienced in the art and science of not only of achieving an inner peaceness in a person but of stimulating blood circulation and soothing tense muscles. The final complement to this package is the Floral Foot Bath with its special blend of aromatic dead sea salt to give that totally fresh feeling.

After a day at nearby Kata Beach, treat yourself to an ‘After Sun Ritual’, one of the spa’s signature treatments. A cooling and soothing body wrap of Aloe Vera and banana leaf, a facial of tropical fruits help rejuvenate and reviatlize your skin after sun exposure.
